Cloisters was founded on a commitment to civil liberties. Our human rights and civil liberties team, which includes both members and associate members of Cloisters, are routinely instructed in some of the most topical human rights issues domestically and internationally, both to advise and to represent.

Our highly reputed equality and discrimination team, as well as our international lawyers, bring particular expertise to fast developing areas within human rights and barristers now lead the field in human rights and equality in artificial intelligence, sports, climate, transgender rights, modern slavery and inquiry work. They continue to act and advise in civil liberties and human rights matters in public and administrative law, as Cloisters has done historically.

Ten members of Cloisters are appointed to the Equality and Human Rights Commission panel counsel, showing the range and strength of experience.
