This full day conference, to be held at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium, will allow those with an interest in sports law, governance and business the opportunity to hear what the leading experts think about the important issues of the day, before debating the same at a drinks reception and networking session.
Schona Jolly QC will speak as part of an equality law panel at the conference and will be joined by Steven Flynn (St Johns Buildings), Paul Gilroy QC (Littleton), Richard Barker (Mills & Reeve) and Alan Darfi (Head of Legal at the RFL.)
The focus of the panel will be on the role that litigation/disciplinary processes can have in fighting discrimination in sport. The panel will cover types of claims, the difficulties in pursuing them and what, if anything, should be done to encourage people to speak up and assert their rights.
